Cold War Tech is created and maintained by Robin Monks, as part of a personal passion to preserve and restore historic knowledge.

I built Cold War Tech because I was becoming frustrated by how much content about the technology, places, and systems of the Cold War stopped at the surface level. Lots of photos and brief descriptions exist, but few talk about the actual technology, how it worked, and how it was operated. An incredible amount of technology was developed during the Cold War period, and vanishingly little of it has been deeply documented and stored for future generations.
