Cold War Tech is researched, written and built by Robin Monks, both as a labor of love and also because I find the Cold War era's technology forever fascinating. This page credits the typefaces, tools and communities that make the archive possible.

Typography

• Parts List and DRAFT PAPER are licensed from Beth Mathews Design; these fonts are used in the hand-lettered stamps, headlines and draftsman annotations across the site.
• Atkinson Hyperlegible Next by the Braille Institute, my deepest appreciation for their work on making fonts optimized for human reading.
• Courier Prime by Alan Dague-Greene shows around the site as the "typewriter" typeface.

Built with

The site runs on Kirby CMS, a flat-file PHP CMS that keeps the archive speedy and easy to edit and back up.
Visitor statistics come from Tinylytics by Vincent Ritter, a privacy-first analytics service.

Inspiration

A grateful nod to the r/longlines community, whose photographs and site surveys of AT&T Long Lines towers and other hardened infrastructure rekindled my interest in Cold War technology and set this archive in motion.
