The scholarly institutional history of the DRB. For the McGill Fence it provides the independent academic framing: the Mid-Canada Line was ‘Canadian designed and made based on the double Doppler principle… called the Mid-Canada Line or the McGill Fence, the former based on its location and the latter based on its point of origin as a research project’ - and states the tripwire limitation plainly: the line ‘could not pinpoint the range and direction of incoming targets.’
